Rock for Youth

Im Rheinland sagt man ja, dass alles, was zweimal wiederholt wird, Tradition ist. So sind die Wachtberger Kulturwochen, die bereits seit 2007 jährlich mit Unterstützung zahlreicher Künstler und Kulturtreibender aus Wachtberg und Umgebung von der Gemeinde Wachtberg veranstaltet werden, aus dem Wachtberger Sommer nicht mehr wegzudenken.

Neu hingegen ist der Kinder- und Jugendkulturtag, der 2012 zum ersten Mal im Rahmen der Kulturwochen stattfand. Beim Kinder- und Jugendkulturtag werden über den Tag verteilt zahlreiche Ausstellungen, Konzerte und Workshops veranstaltet, die speziell für diese Altersgruppe ausgelegt sind.
Beschließen sollte der Tag mit einer zentralen Veranstaltung für alle Wachtberger Jugendlichen.
Die Konzeption und Organisation dieser wurde in die Hände des Wachtberger Jugendrats gelegt.

Schnell war man sich im Jugendrat einig, dass ein kleines Rockfestival mit mehreren jugendlichen Bands aus Wachtberg und Umgebung unter dem Titel "Rock for Youth" stattfinden sollte.
Angesichts der umfangreichen Organisation kam der Jugendrat schließlich auf MOVE zu, um uns als Mitveranstalter zu gewinnen.

Am 1. September 2012 fand somit in Kooperation von MOVE und JuRa erstmals das Wachtberger Jugendfestival "Rock for Youth" statt. Die Veranstaltung war ein Erfolg und wird sicher wieder stattfinden.

Leider mussten wir für 2013 absagen, da unser Schwerpunkt in diesem Jahr auf kleineren, dafür zahlreichen Aktionen liegt und für ein Großprojekt wie "Rock for Youth" kaum noch zeitliche Kapazitäten zur Verfügung stehen.
Wir haben uns deshalb entschlossen, uns anderweitig am Kinder- und Jugendkulturtag einzubringen. Die Planungen laufen, man darf gespannt sein!
